Lu Huat expressed gratitude to BYD for its outstanding contributions to accelerating electrification in Indonesia. He praised, "Today, the launch of BYD's brand and products will make big cities like Jakarta cleaner, promote health, strengthen Indonesia's ecosystem, and contribute to the development of the electric vehicle industry."

Elango, through a video address, shared BYD's future plans to invest in and build a production base in Indonesia. He stated that BYD's presence would provide Indonesian consumers with more choices for new energy vehicles, boosting the popularity of electric cars in Indonesia.

 

The launch event featured multiple BYD technology experience zones, showcasing e Platform 3.0, Blade Battery, CTB battery chassis integration technology, and VTOL on-board discharging, among other new energy technologies.

To comprehensively demonstrate the outstanding performance of BYD's new energy vehicles, the brand launch event not only provided detailed introductions to the brand and technology but also included test drives for the three new models. The test drive route traversed the National Monument Park in Jakarta, covering a total distance of 2.8 kilometers, with safety personnel ensuring a secure journey. Attendees had the opportunity to experience the exceptional performance of these three new vehicles while appreciating the diverse cultural characteristics of Indonesia's 33 provinces, creating a unique and unforgettable driving experience.

 

Zhao Yue, General Manager of BYD Indonesia, stated, "In 2018, BYD commercial vehicles supported public transportation services in several important cities in Indonesia, leaving a footprint. This passenger vehicle brand launch event marks a new beginning for BYD's green journey in Indonesia. BYD will open 50 stores nationwide in collaboration with dealer partners. Consistent with government guidelines, we plan to start the construction of a plant in Indonesia later this year, committing to establishing and developing an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia with high-end products and excellent services, injecting new vitality into Indonesia."

In 2023, BYD achieved an annual sales volume of over 3 million new energy vehicles, securing the global champion position in new energy vehicle sales. The footprint of new energy vehicles has spread to more than 70 countries and regions, over 400 cities, with the globalization process continually accelerating.
